An early morning worth waking up for
Your adventure begins while Bali is still asleep. A private driver collects you from your hotel and takes you to the foot of Mount Batur, where your private local guide will be ready to meet you.
Enjoy hot coffee or tea with bread at the starting point before putting on your headlamp and adjusting your trekking pole. Your guide then leads the climb at a comfortable pace. An English-speaking guide can be arranged when requested during booking.
At the summit, enjoy a light breakfast of a boiled egg, bread, and mineral water while you wait for sunrise. Afterward, descend in the morning light and meet your driver for the journey back—or continue with an optional hot spring or coffee plantation visit.

What you must bring
Every guest must wear proper hiking or sports shoes with good grip and bring a warm windproof jacket, warm wind-resistant trousers, a beanie or knitted hat, and gloves.
Avoid sandals, flip-flops, shorts, and thin clothing. Mount Batur can feel very cold and windy before sunrise.

Can beginners join?
Many first-time hikers complete Mount Batur, but the trail is physically demanding and includes steep, uneven volcanic ground. A moderate level of fitness is recommended.
Is the guide private?
Yes. Your hotel vehicle and local hiking guide are reserved for your booking, with a maximum of five guests per guide.
Can I request an English-speaking guide?
Yes. Select English when booking so we can arrange an English-speaking local guide for your hike.
Is the sunrise guaranteed?
No. Sunrise occurs every morning, but clear views depend on mountain weather. Cloud, mist, or limited visibility is not grounds for a refund when the hike can operate safely.
What is the cancellation policy?
Refunds deduct only non-refundable booking/payment processing fees and actual non-recoverable costs already incurred. You may also request rescheduling, subject to availability.
