Participation and fitness

The hike is moderately challenging and takes place on steep, loose, and uneven volcanic ground. Guests are responsible for deciding whether they are physically able to participate and must disclose relevant medical conditions, pregnancy, injuries, or mobility concerns before confirming a booking. We may recommend that a guest does not participate where safety is uncertain.

Guest preparation

Guests are responsible for bringing proper shoes and the required warm, wind-resistant clothing. Provided headlamps and trekking poles remain our property and must be returned after the hike.

Guide and transport format

Hotel pickup and drop-off are by private car reserved for your booking. The local mountain guide is also reserved for your booking, with a maximum of five guests per guide. An English-speaking guide can be arranged when requested.

Pickup

Guests must provide an accurate accommodation name and location and be ready in the hotel lobby 10 minutes before the confirmed pickup time. Pickup outside listed areas is subject to availability and may require an additional charge or an agreed meeting point. Any change is confirmed before payment.

Weather, safety, and itinerary

Mountain weather, traffic, trail conditions, closures, and operational considerations may require timing, route, or itinerary changes. Clear sunrise visibility cannot be guaranteed. Guests must follow reasonable safety instructions from the guide and operating team.

Pricing and payment

Prices are displayed in USD. The confirmed total, included services, optional add-ons, and any applicable booking-provider terms are shown before payment. Your bank or card provider may apply its own currency conversion or international transaction fee.

Our role

Batur Hiking Sunrise is organized by PT. Volcano Open Trip in collaboration with local guides, drivers, and operating partners. Their services are coordinated as part of your booked experience.
